By bike to Achel

From Soerendonk you can take a wonderful bike ride through the Kempen. In the hamlet of Leenderstrijp you will see many centuries-old long-facade farms. Don't pedal too fast and enjoy the look back in time. A little later you drive into the Leenderbos and the adjacent Groote Heide nature reserve. You cycle through vast forests, heathlands and past two mysterious fens. What peace you experience here in this border area! At Michielsplein in Achel you will pass the neo-Gothic village church from 1909. Here you will also see a music kiosk from 1935 and an old-fashioned cast-iron village pump. As you drive through the quiet coniferous forests of the Beverbeekse Heide, you will pass border marker 174 near junction 216. Here is a replica of De Draad. The route ends at the cozy drinks café De Bout.
