Visiting the nobility

Your route starts at Camping Roderveld. A beautiful trip through a typical Twente landscape. You will also discover a cultural-historical gem: Het Stift van Weerselo. At Nutter you will drive along the Hezinger Es, a beautiful rolling area where you seem miles away from the Netherlands. Not so strange, because the German border is just a stone's throw away! You will drive through typical Twente villages. Take your time to discover the beautiful historic buildings of Het Stift van Weerselo, where unmarried noble ladies were once provided with a good education. This has been a Stift since the fourteenth century, but its history goes back even further: it is located on the grounds of a former Benedictine monastery from the twelfth century. Be sure to visit the Stiftskerk from 1600!
