This route takes you through the Utrecht lowlands. First, you make a detour to Kasteel de Haar. The castle originally dates from the fourteenth century. The current castle was rebuilt in 1892 in neo-Gothic style by Pierre Cuypers. Around Kockengen, you cycle through the cope landscape of narrow, straight meadows. Then you cycle along the Vecht, where you see many old farms and villas. You also pass Fort Spion, the fortification from 1847 that was part of the New Dutch Waterline. Over the dike you cycle along the Loosdrechtse Plassen. Finally, you cycle a bit through the Vuursche Bossen, before cycling back to the Maarsseveense Plassen.
