Description
With this route you will discover the charm of the Loosdrechtse and Ankeveense Plassen. You get on your bike at Landgoed Boekesteyn, one of the estates around's Graveland. The plots for these country estates were divided as early as 1634 - by drawing lots! Further on you drive through Ankeveen, a characteristic ribbon village where almost all plots are surrounded by water. From junction 38 you drive over a narrow dike along the Ankeveense Plassen. This pristine, water-rich nature reserve was created by peat extraction. Via a shortcut along the Vecht you cycle to the Loosdrechtse Plassen: another beautiful nature reserve! Finally, you drive through the forests of the Spanderswoud. What a wonderfully varied route!
