To the east of the Hanseatic city of Zutphen, you cycle through a beautiful bocage landscape. You will experience the peace of a bygone era here. You will also pass some sights, such as historic country estates.

Great Field
Den Bramel is a country estate that originally dates from the fourteenth century. The current country house was built in 1726. In the forests of Het Grote Veld nature reserve, the kilometers seem to pass by themselves, while you drive between the fragrant conifers. How wonderfully quiet it is here. A little further you will pass through the old village center of Almen. The village church originally dates from the fourteenth century. The Old Book Printing Museum is also located on the Dorpsstraat, it can be visited by appointment!

House 't Velde
In the woods just below Harfsen you pass Camping Braakhekke, an ideal location to relax. Further on, on the banks of the Berkel, you can take a look at Huis 't Velde, a stately manor from the sixteenth century. The manor is surrounded by a beautiful deciduous forest with beautiful avenues. The route starts and ends at Landwinkel Den 4 Akker, where you can stock up on tasty fresh products for a picnic along the way.

House de Voorst
Just past junction 43 you can make a detour to a park-like estate with a stately country house: De Voorst. The seventeenth-century mansion is also known as the Versailles of the Achterhoek because of its appearance. It was designed by renowned architects Jacob Roman and Daniel Marot. They are responsible, among other things, for the design of Paleis het Loo. Huis de Voorst and Huis 't Velde share a common history. Moreover, they are connected to each other via a park forest.
