The Loosdrechtse Plassen are a picture, but there is so much more to be found here. Take the river Vecht and Fort Kijkuit, part of the New Dutch Waterline.
Loosdrecht Lakes
At the Loosdrechtse Plassen you drive through a picturesque landscape where different waters are separated by dikes and islands. You can enjoy beautiful views everywhere. In Oud-Loosdrecht you can still see many monumental farms and houses from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries on the dike.
Fort Tienhoven
On the way you will pass Fort Tienhoven. It was part of the New Dutch Waterline, intended to protect Utrecht. The information point is worth a visit, here you will also find information about cycle routes through the area. Please note the opening hours, which can be found via the Natuurmonumenten website.
