With this all-in-one route you won't be short of anything. From Bilthoven you quickly drive into the wide polders above Maarssen. You will pass through Westbroek, which enjoys a protected village view. Here you will see several monumental farms and the beautiful fifteenth-century village church. Further on you drive over the dike that borders the Loosdrechtse Plassen. From the saddle you have beautiful views over the rippling water. Sypestein Castle-Museum seems very old, but this building dates from the beginning of the twentieth century. After Nieuw-Loosdrecht the setting changes. First you drive across the Hoorneboegse Heide. This nature reserve is home to old comb fields and about 20 burial mounds, so it is considered an archaeological monument. You then drive through the woods until Den Dolder.
