Description

On the road in the Achterhoek, through a scenic landscape that seems made especially for cyclists. With the nice historic towns of Borculo and Ruurlo as the icing on the cake. A beautiful route full of variety!

Glory Borculo
Borculo received city rights as early as 1375. Prince William V of Orange-Nassau purchased the manor of Borculo in 1777. As a result, King Willem-Alexander still carries the title 'Lord of Borculo'. On the quay in the cozy historic city center you can see some beautiful monuments, such as the Stone Table, a water mill from the eighteenth century. A little further away is the Crystal Museum, which is located in the former town hall from 1887.

Historic Ruurlo
Via a rural route you drive to the stream valley of the Meibeek, one of the Achterhoek streams that meander so beautifully through the landscape. You follow the stream for a long way and then turn to another beautiful town: Ruurlo, a pleasant town with a beautiful historic center. Here you will see, among other things, the fourteenth-century Village Church.
