Description

On the road in the Achterhoek, through a bocage landscape that seems to have been specially made for cyclists. The icing on the cake is the nice historic towns of Borculo and Ruurlo. A beautiful route full of variety!

Glory Borculo
Borculo received city rights as early as 1375. Prince Willem V of Orange-Nassau purchased the Borculo seigneury in 1777. As a result, King Willem-Alexander still bears the title'Lord of Borculo\\\'. On the quay in the cozy historic city center you can see some beautiful monuments, such as the Stone Table, a water mill from the eighteenth century. A little further on is the Crystal Museum, which is housed in a former town hall from 1887.

Historic Ruurlo
Via a rural route you drive to the stream valley of the Meibeek, one of the Achterhoek streams that meander through the landscape so beautifully. You follow the stream a long way and then bend to another beautiful town: Ruurlo, a pleasant town with a beautiful historic core. You can see here, among other things, the fourteenth-century village church.
