Cycling through the Achterhoek coulisselandscape

This route takes you through the bocage landscape between Lichtenvoorde, Ruurlo, and Groenlo. It's wonderfully peaceful cycling here on car-free roads. Ideal for a day of relaxation. From junction 26, you'll cycle for a while along the Baakse Beek stream, overlooking meadows and the row of deciduous trees along the water. South of Ruurlo, you'll cycle through the De Kooi estate, after which you'll pick up the leafy path along the Slinge river at junction 91. This lowland stream rises near Winterswijk and flows into the Berkel near Borculo. Beltrum is the only village along this route; here you'll see the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, dating from 1846. Just above Groenlo, you'll briefly pick up the Slinge river before returning to Skik & Zo Eten & Drinken.
