Walking through the Maashorst

Zeeland is not only a province, it is also a Brabant village near Uden. This route takes you through Zeeland, Oventje and Landschapspark de Maashorst.

Maashorst
From Oventje you walk into the forests of the Maashorst, the largest contiguous nature reserve in North Brabant. You walk mainly between fragrant conifers. It is wonderfully quiet here, an ideal opportunity to forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life. At the edge of the forest you come across De Heische Tip. A cozy location to make a stop on the terrace with a snack and a drink.

Zealand
In the village of Zeeland you will pass De Dageraad, a beautiful corn mill from 1832. At junction 58 you will see the monumental village church from the mid-nineteenth century. In the countryside you will see some beautiful characteristic farms. In Oventje, near junction 69, there is a unique monument: a broken electricity pole. The metal pole gave way during the infamous Storm Disaster of 1925.
