Description

Cycle around the Wormer and Jisperveld, the largest contiguous peat meadow area in Western Europe. It is wonderful to cycle here along waterways and the neatly divided polders and rugged peat meadow areas. Lush strips of reeds adorn the banks, and countless cows graze in the grass. This is Holland at its most beautiful! Along the way you will discover nice villages, starting with Jisp. Here you will pass characteristic farms and De Koker, a mill whose history dates back to 1592. You will also see some beautiful buildings and old churches in Wormer and Krommenie. About halfway along the route you get off at another historical hotspot: Fort Marken-Binnen.
