Tour of Wormer and Jisperveld

Cycle around the Wormer and Jisperveld, the largest contiguous peat meadow area in Western Europe. It is wonderful to cycle here along waterways and the tightly divided polders and capricious peat meadow areas. Lush reed strips adorn the banks, countless cows graze in the grass. This is Holland at its best! Along the way you will discover nice villages, starting with Jisp. Here you pass characteristic farms and De Koker, a mill whose history dates back to 1592. You can also see some beautiful buildings and old churches in Wormer and Krommenie. About halfway through the route you get off at another historical hotspot: Fort Marken-Binnen.
