From Muiderberg you can take a beautiful walk to Muiden. With this route you will experience both natural beauty and cultural history.
The IJmeer
From Muiderberg you walk up the old Zuiderzeedijk, an attraction in itself. You pass the Echobos, a park forest with many old beech, oak and lime trees. A little later you have a beautiful view over the water of the IJmeer, the former Zuiderzee. In the distance is the fortress island of Pampus. On the dike you can see an old whitewashed dike house and a former tank obstacle from 1940. On the other side of the moat is the beautiful Muiderslot, a beautiful photo opportunity.
Mouse fort
In Muiden you walk through the protected cityscape. If you stroll along the Herengracht along the banks of the Vecht, you will see many beautiful monumental buildings. You also walk past the Mouse Fort, which was built at the end of the nineteenth century. You then walk along the Naardertrekvaart, an old barge connection between Amsterdam and the Gooi, to the hamlet of Hakkelaarbrug. You can admire a number of buildings at the monumental Brink in Muiderberg. You will be warmly welcomed in the seventeenth-century former courthouse of Hotel Restaurant Het Rechthuis.
