Walking through Lelystad

Lelystad, like other places on Flevoland, has been designed in an innovative way. With this walk you will get to know some surprising parts of the city. You can also walk through the Bultpark.

Pumping station Wortman
Lelystad is divided into green residential islands with their own distinctive buildings, such as houses that lie in the water. This route also introduces you to the versatile character of Lelystad. Of course you also walk over the Oostvaardersdijk, so that you can enjoy the view over the IJsselmeer. On the dike you pass the Gemaal Wortman, one of the three pumping stations that was used for draining the polder Eastern Flevoland.

Hump Park
The Bultpark is perhaps the most beautiful park in Lelystad. You will find a mix of low and high grounds and many trees and shrubs that provide exciting vistas. There are beautiful water features with wooden bridges for a romantic atmosphere. The park is popular with local residents for a trim or to relax on a bench.
