The route starts at Hotel Café Restaurant De Gouden Karper, one of the oldest hospitality establishments in the region. Around Zelhem, which calls itself the Green Heart of the Achterhoek region, you'll cycle through an ancient cultural landscape. Further on, you'll pass through the Slangenburg Estate. In spring, the blooming rhododendrons are a feast for the eyes. The lane system is unique in the Netherlands for its scale and authenticity. The castle dates from 1612. There are more sights along the route, such as the Wittebrinkse Molen, a corn mill dating from 1889. And what about the beauty of Terborg, a town on the Oude IJssel river? Laag-Keppel is also a historic hotspot. Here you'll see Keppel Castle, for example, which originally dates from 1350. In Hummelo, you'll pass the beautiful village church from 1839.
