Walking at Bruinisse

The start and end point of this route is Hotel Bru in Bruinisse. Also discover the Petit kitchen & bar restaurant, a nice place for a snack and a drink. Bruinisse was founded in the fifteenth century, after the then island of Duiveland was diked on the east side. Antiquity room Bruinisse (Busea) is housed in a stylish eighteenth-century monument, fun to visit. Outside the village you walk across the Stoofpolder, with beautiful views over the water of the Krammer and the Grevelingendam: the fourth structure of the Delta Works that was completed in 1965. A little further on you look out over Het Zijpe, an estuary. Sint Philipsland is on the other side. From the Hageweg you look out over the Grevelingenmeer. Here you will also see Nooitgedacht, a monumental farmstead from the eighteenth century.
