A round of Geldermalsen

In the Betuwe it is wonderfully quiet cycling around Geldermalsen through a varied landscape. There are many sights to admire in the old villages.

Old flour mill
From Neerijnen you drive into the Betuwe. In this sparsely populated region you cycle between wide grasslands and the many fruit orchards in this region. You will pass the comfortable B&B Snellenstein. In Geldermalsen you can see the Bouwing, a corn mill from 1848. In the picturesque Erichem you can admire several ancient monumental farms. Some date back to the seventeenth century.

Betuwe
From the dike along the meandering Waal you can experience Dutch skies and beautiful views. You look over the busy water and flowery floodplains where you can spot many birds. A wonderful route to switch back for a day. Back in Neerijnen you can taste the historic atmosphere: the town enjoys a protected village view. The beautiful Neerijnen Castle originally dates from the fourteenth century.
