Description
Merselo is a Limburg esdorp on the edge of the Peel. You can enjoy a lovely walk here through the countryside and through the Loobeekdal.
Loobeekdal
From Merselo you can walk straight into the Loobeekdal. In this nature reserve you will find flower-rich moist grasslands. You also walk through small forests consisting of alders and willows. Where the soil is drier, birches and conifers also grow. It is wonderfully quiet here, ideal for taking a moment to relax. You cross the Loobeek twice. It has been redesigned in recent years to give nature more of a chance.
Never thought
Past the hamlet of Haag you walk into an extension of the Airport Forests. Here you mainly walk between Scots pines, although you will also see some tufts of heather growing. Many birds of prey live in this area, there is a good chance that you will spot one at the edge of the forest. At the end of your route you will pass Nooit Gedacht, a flour mill from 1867.
