Ooijpolder

This route goes south of the Millingerwaard towards Kekerdom. This is because I travel by mobility scooter. But if you are on your bike: take the route via junction 71 along the north side of the Millingerwaard and the Waal. In that case, moor at the Millinger Tea Garden. Part of this part of the route is unpaved but easily accessible by bicycle (I know from a previous life).

Beautiful views over the Waal take you to the village of Ooij and a little further on to Logement Oortjeshekken. A must for every visitor to the Ooijpolder - a nice cup of coffee or lunch is always included. If you are sitting outside on the large terrace, take a look inside the nostalgic accommodation. The route continues along the Bison Bay and the river to near Nijmegen. Turn left at the pumping station (stay in the polder) to the picturesque church of Persingen. A late Gothic church - it hardly has an ecclesiastical function anymore, but there are regular beautiful exhibitions. The route takes you back to the starting point Leuth via the Wylermeer and the Thornse Molen restaurant.

This route is also suitable for a mobility scooter.
