The Limburg Landgoed Geijsteren is perfect for a lovely walk through nature. On the estate and in the neighboring village of Geijsteren you can see some old sights.
Rosmolen
Landgoed Geijsteren is a former seigneury that has been owned by the same noble German family for two centuries. You can take a quiet walk here through a landscape of woods, heaths, meadows and fields. The area is intersected by the Oostrumse Beek, a former Meuse arm. At this stream you will pass De Rosmolen, a water mill from 1667. Despite the name, it has never been a real horse mill. At the mill there is a striking wood carving made from branches from the forest.
Saint Willibrord Chapel
A little further on you will pass the Gothic Sint-Willibrordus chapel from 1543. Court sessions and sacrificial acts were already held here in Frankish times. The chapel contains a Willibrordus statue from the seventeenth century and a reredos from the eighteenth century. In Geijsteren you can still see some beautiful old farms.
