Monumental farms in Eckelrade
The starting point of this route is just outside Cadier en Keer. From here you set course for Eckelrade through a quiet hilly landscape. Prepare yourself for a sporty trip, because the climbs are sometimes not wrong in this area. In Eckelrade you can see what life is like in a typical South Limburg village. Here you will find several monumental farms that date back to times long gone. From Eckelrade you walk back to Cadier en Keer through the Savelsbos. This forest consists of a narrow ribbon of hillside forests of about 240 hectares.

Wander through the ancient streets of Cadier en Keer and be surprised by historic buildings. For example, take a look at Blankenberg Castle, the parish church with a church tower dating from the 12th century and the various half-timbered farms in the village.
