Description
Ancient sights
The starting point of this tour is in the town of Kefferhausen in Eichsfeld. This region is known for its traditional dried sausage specialities. An old-fashioned delicacy to enjoy on the go if you like it. From Kefferhausen you can be in Dingelstädt in no time. From here you continue through various places to the imperial city of Mühlhausen. Here you will find various churches and all kinds of sights from the time of the Thuringian Kingdom that are worth seeing. Of course you can also settle down in the center of the city for a snack and a drink.
From sausage to wine
From here you cycle through Sömmerda, Heldrungen and Freyburg to the end of the route. Along the way you will find numerous half-timbered houses, historic castles, monasteries and medieval fortresses that adorn the green landscape. The last section of the route runs through the Saale-Unstrut wine-growing region. Here you can stock up on delicious wines after your tour.
