Description

In Germany you will find several multi-day cycling routes that take you through the most beautiful areas. The Weser-Radweg is one of the most popular long cycle routes in Germany. Let yourself be carried away by a versatile landscape and nice towns between the Weserbergland and the North Sea, over a distance of more than 500 kilometers. Discover all the treasures along this route and let yourself be enchanted.

Cycling along the Oberweser
The Weser-Radweg is suitable for recreational cyclists looking for a nice ride as well as for advanced cyclists who like to cover great distances. You can follow the entire route spread over several days, but you can also explore a certain part of the route in one day. The Oberweser is the first stage that takes you along the highlights of the Weserbergland. Get to know historic towns such as Hamelin and fortresses and castles on the banks of the Weser such as Fürstenburg Castle, Bevern Castle and Schloss Bückeburg. You will be amazed at the colorful half-timbered towns and buildings from the Weser Renaissance period.

Discover the area around the Mittelweser
Near Minden you cycle to the North German plain. You cycle along the Mittelweser through the towns of Nienburg and Verder and through swamp and moor landscapes. You will also find historic windmills and watermills here that brighten up the landscape.

Close with the Unterweser
Further north you will find the Hanseatic city of Bremen, the largest city on the Weser-Radweg. That's where the Unterweser also starts. In Bremen you can take a look at the town hall, which is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In Nordenham you can choose to take the ferry to Bremerhaven or continue on the Weser-Radweg to Cuxhaven. The entire route is uninterruptedly marked with clearly recognizable signposts.
