A wonderfully long tour over the Utrechtse Heuvelrug

The Utrechtse Heuvelrug is one of the few areas in the Netherlands where you can take a long bike ride through nature without interruption. The view changes regularly here. One moment you are riding over a rolling heathland, the next you are swallowed up by an old deciduous forest with stately beech avenues and old country houses: you see them in abundance. For example, in the middle of the forest you ride past the striking Poorthuis Ruiterberg from 1917. De Boom is a country house from 1879. You also ride a bit through the vast lowlands of the Gelderse Vallei, where you will find the Grebbelinie and the picturesque Leusden.
