A wonderfully long trip over the Utrechtse Heuvelrug

The Utrechtse Heuvelrug is one of the few areas in the Netherlands where you can take a long, uninterrupted cycle ride through nature. The view here changes regularly. One moment you are driving across a rolling heathland, the next you are swallowed up by an old deciduous forest with stately beech avenues and old country houses: you see them in abundance. In the middle of the forest you drive past the striking Poorthuis Ruiterberg from 1917. De Boom is a country house from 1879. You also drive a bit through the vast lowlands of the Gelderse Vallei, where you will find the Grebbe Line and the picturesque Leusden.
