By bike through the Wieden

This route takes you through the rugged and quiet nature of the Wieden. This beautiful nature reserve mainly consists of a few large lakes, such as the Beulakerwijde, Belterwijde and Bovenwijde. It is wonderful to look out over the water here and let the silence work on you. You will also pass the Giethoornse Meer, the only natural lake in this region, and the bird-rich Vollenhovermeer. In the Kop van Overijssel you will also find many cultural-historical sights, such as Giethoorn. In Blokzijl you can admire the beautiful historic buildings on the harbor. At Sint-Jansklooster you pass the former Watertoren from 1932 that you can climb for a spectacular view. At Petit restaurant het Otterswold you can enjoy a drink and snack on the terrace by the water.
