Description
The views in the Limburg hill country are never boring. This route takes you from Voerendaal through picturesque towns such as Gulpen, Wittem and Ubachsberg.
Geuldal
Well, sometimes it's a bit of a climb. But from the hilltops you have the most beautiful views in the Netherlands. Take some time to catch your breath and enjoy the breathtaking surroundings. Such as the idyllic Geuldal with its meadows, orchards and many monumental half-timbered houses. On the outskirts of Wijlre you can take a look at the castle of the same name from 1625, it is privately owned.
Gulpen
In Gulpen you will pass the striking church tower to which St. Peter's Church was once attached. The church tower dates from the thirteenth century and originally also served as a defense structure. Further on you can take a look at Wittem Castle. In Ubachsberg you drive past the St. Bernardus Church from 1841. Winthagen enjoys a protected village view. With all those centuries-old farms and the peace and quiet you find here, you will feel like you have gone back in time.
