Twente on its Lossers

Around Losser you will find everything you need for a beautiful bike ride. This route takes you through the bocage landscape of Twente, through quiet forests and through cozy villages.

Gildehauser Venn
From Losser you can drive straight into the idyllic Dinkeldal. A little later, the border forests of nature reserve De Zandbergen await you. In Germany you pass through the woods of the Gildehauser Venn, an unprecedented quiet nature reserve. A few kilometers further you drive along the Dreiländersee: a name that derives from the fact that the borders of Overijssel, the county of Bentheim and Westphalia met here until the nineteenth century.

Hague Forest
Just past Lonneker you drive through the woods at the foot of the Lonnekerberg, a 61 meter high hill. Further on you pass through the Haagse Bos, a hidden gem of Twente. While cycling you regularly see beautiful old buildings, such as characteristic Saxon farms. In Losser you can admire the detached Martinustoren from 1500, a beautiful monument.
