Description
Just below Asten in Brabant you can take lovely walks around the old village of Heusden. You will pass the ruins of Asten Castle, among other things.
Asten Castle
The path leads you along the edge of the forest and the stream where the ruins of the 600-year-old castle of Asten are located. The romantic remains evoke a turbulent past of exploitation, wars and witch hunts. The ruins and the surrounding area can only be visited with a group tour of at least ten people. A special outing for family or friends. Tours can be booked via the VVV Asten.
Cosy Heusden
Heusden is located in the Peel, a former marshland on the border of Limburg and North Brabant. Now the landscape consists of a patchwork of agricultural lands, woods and stream valleys. What remains from the past is the peace that you will find here. In Heusden you can admire the beautiful neo-Gothic village church from 1921. At Paulus eten en drinken you can go for a drink with fresh apple pie, a well-filled lunch or a dinner.
