Description
Just below Asten in Brabant you can enjoy a lovely walk around the old village of Heusden. You will pass the ruins of Asten Castle, among other things.
Asten Castle
The path leads you along the edge of the forest and the stream where the ruins of the 600-year-old castle of Asten are located. The romantic remains evoke a turbulent past of exploitation, wars and witch persecutions. The ruin and the surrounding area can only be visited with a group tour of at least ten people. A special outing for with family or friends. Guided tours can be booked through the Asten Tourist Office.
Cozy Heusden
Heusden is located in the Peel, a former swamp area on the border of Limburg and North Brabant. Now the landscape consists of a patchwork of agricultural lands, forests and stream valleys. What remains of the past is the peace and quiet you find here. In Heusden you can admire the beautiful neo-Gothic village church from 1921. At Paulus food and drink you can enjoy a drink with fresh apple pie, a well-filled lunch or dinner.
