A visit to De Groote Peel National Park

With a visit to De Groote Peel National Park you will experience what the landscape in De Peel used to be like. The route also takes you through the green Weert and the forests near Roggel.

Beautiful Weert Between Roggel and Weert you drive through a patchwork of agricultural lands, stream valleys and nature reserves. You drive through the Asbroekerheide and Waterbloem, two wonderfully quiet coniferous forests. Just outside Roggel you will pass the St. Petrus, a flour mill from 1901. In Weert you will pass the Wilhelmus Hubertus, a flour mill from 1904. A little further on you can go to the cozy terrace of Gasterij de Stoof for a refreshing pit stop.

Groote Peel You cycle for a while along the edge of the Groote Peel. You cannot explore this beautiful national park by bike. However, from the visitor center you can take a short walk to experience the unique atmosphere of the Groote Pee. You will also pass a lookout tower that offers you an unforgettable view of this beautiful wetland. The route ends at Recreatiepark de Leistert where you can continue to enjoy your carefree holiday.
