Walking at beautiful Mheer

In the countryside you can enjoy walking along meadows, fields and standard orchards. The route also takes you across the border into the Voer region. Here you walk through the Hoogbos, a beautiful oak-birch forest. Occasionally it takes some climbing over the steep slopes, but the views are a nice reward. Mheer was once voted one of the ten most beautiful villages in the Netherlands. And not without reason. You will see beautiful monumental half-timbered houses, such as on Steegstraat. You will also pass the seventeenth-century St. Lambertus Church. Behind this stands the fourteenth-century Mheer Castle, which has been continuously owned by the same noble family since 1668. A lovely village to stroll through. Enjoy coffee and pie on the cozy terrace of Café Quanten.
