Walking around Neerpelt

The Belgian Kempen are ideal for a nice long walk. This route takes you from Neerpelt to Achel and Hamont. You also walk through the green countryside.

Warmbeek valley
From Neerpelt you can walk straight into the woods near Achel. What a wonderfully peaceful walk here. An ideal moment to clear your head and enjoy the fresh forest air. You also pass through the valley around the Warmbeek twice. A beautiful nature reserve with wet hay and meadows, wetlands and coniferous forests. Along the banks of the Bocholt-Herentals Canal, it is nice and quiet to walk on, while looking out over the rippling water.

Hamont-Achel
At the Michielsplein in Achel you will pass the neo-Gothic village church from 1909. You will also see a music kiosk from 1935 and old-fashioned cast-iron village pump. In Hamont you can not only admire a beautiful church on the Market Square, but also some stately old Teuten houses. Teuten were well-organized traders and craftsmen who traveled through Western Europe with their merchandise from the Kempen. In Neerpelt you can enjoy the atmosphere and local products on one of the many terraces.
