Cycling between Elburg and Epe

This route takes you through the area of Elburg and Epe. A wonderfully varied trip through an open polder landscape and the natural beauty of the Veluwe.

Artillery Museum
From the polder roads in the Gelderse Vallei you have wide views over meadows and waterways. At Doornspijk you pass the nineteenth-century country estate Klarenbeek. On the edge of the Veluwe you pass the museum Korps Rijdende Artillerie, where you can learn all about the history of this corps. L59 is also on your route: in the middle of the forests you can learn more about the dramatic history of the Verscholen Dorp.

The Veluwe
In Epe you will pass the fifteenth-century Grote Kerk, a picture. Around the village you will also see some beautiful old regional farms. Further on you will pass the cozy Pannenkoekhuis de Veldkamp: time for a well-deserved break! In the Wisselse Veen you will see the heath gradually change into a marshy swamp area with lots of open water, streams and flowery grasslands. A little later you will drive into the woods again. How wonderful that silence is!
