Description
The blossom route can be found in the southeast of Noordoostpolder. This beautiful route goes right through the blossom area and is of course at its best in spring when the fruit trees are in full bloom.
In the autumn this route is also great for cycling because then you can see and hear the apples, pears, plums and cherries growing on the trees. At some companies you can even pick the fruit YOURSELF!
The route continues along meadows and forests, where you can admire many meadow and water birds, such as lapwings, moorhens, wild ducks and fishing herons.
In the spring your eyes are too short to see all the beauty. The fruit trees bloom in March, April and May (not all at the same time). First the snow-white cherry and plum blossoms form, followed by the also white pear blossom and finally the pink apple blossom. The month of April is therefore also called the blossom month.
