A round of Pelt

Pelt is a pleasant village in Belgian Limburg. It is easy to explore by bike. This route takes you through the village center and the surrounding nature.

Dommel valley
There is no lack of nature in the Limburg Kempen. To the west of Pelt you cycle through the Hobos, a unique small-scale landscape with rows of trees, wooded edges, avenue plants, hedges and orchards. The authentic house of drossaard Clercx, the exterminator of the infamous Bokkerrijders gangs, is still hidden on this estate. In the Dommel valley you pass the Wedelse Molen. According to some sources, this is the oldest watermill in the Benelux. This water mill is said to have stood here in the eighth century. So be sure to take a look here

Old Pelt
In the hamlets around Pelt you can see some striking buildings, churches and old farms. You will also cycle through Neerpelt, an adjacent village that is cut in two by the Bocholt-Herentals Canal. You drive back into Pelt over a former railway line. Here it is nice to pedal along the leafy path. In the old village center you will find beautiful historic sights and good cafes and restaurants where you can settle down for a well-deserved snack and drink.
