A round of Pelt

Pelt is a friendly village in Belgian Limburg. It is easy to explore by bicycle. This route takes you through the village center and the surrounding nature.

Dommel valley
There is no shortage of nature in the Limburg Kempen. West of Pelt you cycle through the Hobos, a unique small-scale landscape with rows of trees, hedgerows, avenue planting, hedges and orchards. On this estate, the authentic home of drossaard Clercx, the exterminator of the infamous Bokkerijders gangs, is still hidden. In the Dommel valley you will pass the Wedelse Mill. According to some sources, this is the oldest water mill in the Benelux. This water mill would already have been here in the eighth century. So be sure to take a look here

Old Pelt
In the hamlets around Pelt you can see some striking buildings, churches and old farms. You will also cycle through Neerpelt, an adjacent village that is cut in two by the Bocholt-Herentals Canal. You drive back into Pelt over a former railway line. It is nice to pedal along the leafy path here. In the old village center you will find beautiful historical sights and good cafes and restaurants where you can settle down for a well-deserved snack and a drink.
