Tour of Grote Veld, Zutphen and Wichmond

You don't have to drive far in the Achterhoek before you already know it: this will be a wonderful bike ride through a varied landscape of forests, estates, stream valleys and fields. For example, you drive through the vast forest of the Het Grote Veld nature reserve. Take a deep breath and enjoy the fresh air. The route takes you through Almen, a beautiful village where a fourteenth-century church still stands. You cycle along the rippling water of the Twente Canal to Zutphen. This Hanseatic town has one of the best preserved historic centers in the Netherlands. Because of the many towers, Zutphen is also called the Tower City. Just before Wichmond you can get off at Grand Café Bij Ludger for a delicious meal. Finally, you cycle through the Kieftskamp Estate and the rural area around Kranenburg.
