History along the Oude IJssel

You cycle quite a few kilometres along the reed-covered banks of the Oude IJssel. A beautiful path where you can enjoy views, the rippling water and the peace. On the edge of Ulft you can see the factory of the former iron foundry DRU. The monumental buildings serve as a cultural centre. A little further on you pass Huis Landfort, a castle with estate from the fifteenth century. The monumental house was extensively renovated in the eighteenth century. In Emmerich am Rhein you can see, among other things, the longest suspension bridge (1228 metres) in Germany. At the Rijnkade you can enjoy a breath of fresh air. In the old city centre you can see the Sint Aldegundiskerk and Sint-Martinikerk. Just outside Stokkum you cycle past Duffels Moll.
