Description
In the border region of South Limburg and Belgium you can take a carefree walk through the Vijlenerbos. You will enjoy a characteristic deciduous forest and beautiful panoramas. From Boscafé't Hijgend Hert you are the first to walk east. The sloping path mainly leads you past deciduous trees such as birch, oak and beech. After a while you have a beautiful view of the vast meadows in the valley near Holset. It is wonderfully quiet in the middle of the forest. Ideal for a relaxing day. After a pit stop at Boscafé't Hijgend Hert you walk a bit into the valley near Vijlen, after which you cross the Vijlenerbos to the hamlet of Cottessen. One of the most beautiful landscapes in the Netherlands opens up from the forest here.
