Lauwersmeer National Park is a unique wilderness of water, forests and rugged grasslands full of orchids. More than a hundred bird species breed here. In spring and autumn you can see and hear thousands of geese passing by. While cycling you might also see the white-tailed eagle, which has been breeding here again for a number of years. You start and end this tour from the quiet Camping de Rousant. In the middle of the national park you are also welcome at Hotel Restaurant Toxopeus, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch. In the picturesque Frisian mound village of Anjum you will see the Michael Church from 1100. Don't forget to stop at the Ezumakreeg Noord viewpoint for bird watching! Also get off at LauwersmeerPlezier! for a well-deserved rest.
