The cycling routes start at TOP Rijnsaterwoude and take you past various farm shops.

Around TOP Rijnsaterwoude there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature, water and agrotourism. The area has a Dutch character: an open and wide landscape with windmills and cows and beautiful waters such as the Kagerplassen and the Braassemermeer
The TOP is on the grounds of farmer Kempenaar. The gate is open from 9 o'clock in the morning. Between sunset and sunrise, the entrance gate is closed, but not locked.

Rijnsaterwoude has traditionally been a village with ribbon development and has an agricultural character. A few farmers live in the ribbon who work the surrounding lands. The farmers also manage the wide and open landscape of reclaimed land, which is so characteristic of this side of the municipality of Kaag en Braassem. The part of Rijnsaterwoude south of the Leidse Vaart lies in the Vierambachtspolder.

A few tips
Boerenlandpad Vierambachtspolder
A walk on the Boerenlandpad Vierambachtspolder takes you past the fields of the Kempenaar family that are used for growing crops. You can find various crops such as potatoes, onions, grains, sugar beets, maize and various types of cut flowers. The hare and the pheasant are common animals on this 6.5 km route.

Braassemermeer
The Braassemermeer originated in the time of the peat cutters. The 425-hectare pond has grown due to peat and weather influences. The green-blue lake is best known for its water sports activities. It is nice to cycle and walk along the lake. Here you will find marinas, boat rentals, cafes and restaurants.

The Hems
Nature reserve De Hemmen consists of 6 islands. This unique piece of nature with swamp forests has breeding grounds for more than 30 bird species. The islands can be seen from the Zwetweg and Woudsedijk. Two of the islands are equipped for recreation and there is also a marina for visitors. From the Paddegat you can explore the nature reserve from the water by boat.

Bilderdam
Bilderdam is the smallest village within the municipality of Kaag en Braassem and is located on the Drecht. In Bilderdam, with the classic drawbridge, an antique bridge keeper's house, old farms and farm workers' houses, time seems to have stood still. The village is home to some high-profile works of art.
