Explore Helmond step by step

Museums and an ancient castle
VVV Helmond is the starting point of this route. From here you can walk through the pleasant center of Helmond. Enjoy the large collection of public art in the heart of the city and also take a look at the various sights that can be found here. The first sight you encounter on the route is Museum Helmond location Boscotondo. In the Kunsthal you can view modern works of art from the period from 1920 to 1980. Changing exhibitions are also held here. You then walk past Helmond Castle, one of the best preserved medieval castles in the Netherlands. The Helmond Museum is also located in the castle and it is also surrounded by a sculpture park.

Sniffing culture in the Cacaofabriek
The last sight on the route is the Cacaofabriek. Cocoa powder and chocolate products were produced in this factory from 1894 to 1932. Today, part of the old factory serves as Helmond's cultural hotspot. You will find a pop stage, a cinema, an exhibition space for artists and much more.

Piet Blom's Cube Houses
This route also takes you past the Cube Houses by the architect Piet Blom. These houses were first built in Helmond and then the same type of cube houses were also built in Rotterdam. These houses were a response to the large-scale and gray housing complexes that were built after the Second World War. The houses in Helmond were built from 1974 and were officially completed in 1977.
