You have to see the Mander circles once. And while you're there, you should of course walk on to the Springendal and the Hazelbekke stream valley.
Bra by Jannink
The Mander circles were created in the 1930s by textile manufacturer Jannink. According to him, the round shape offered the advantage that farmers could work the plot without having to turn their machines. Instead of crops, you will now find the largest landscape art project in the Netherlands. A unique experience. The circles are very visible from the air, and pilots jokingly call them the 'Jannink Bra'.
Hazelbeak
At junction D49 lies the former dolmen of Mander. You walk over the Galgenberg where executions took place in the Middle Ages. Along the border with Germany it is wonderfully quiet. Just like in the forests of the Springendal where you walk along ponds and narrow streams. Around junction D96 you walk through the beautiful stream valley of the Hazelbekke where you will find hayfields, swamp forests and hedgerows.
