Through the forests of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug

From Bunnik, this route takes you to Amersfoort. A beautiful tour that takes you through the vast Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park. You cycle through deciduous and coniferous forests, through heathlands and over old stately beech avenues. In this rolling landscape, the kilometers pass by automatically. You see monumental farms and country estates, such as Huize Den Treek, which dates from 1807. You also pass through Amersfoort, a pleasant city rich in history. The fifteenth-century Onze Lieve Vrouwetoren is literally the biggest eye-catcher. At 98 meters, it is the third highest church tower in the Netherlands. Through the forests you cycle via Fort Rijnauwen back to 't Wapen van Bunnik, a pleasant restaurant where you can enjoy a drink and a meal.
