Description
Stage 7 of the Cycling Path takes you from Gennep to Venlo. In Gennep you will find a listening point of the Liberation Route, L37: Sinterklaas at MariaOord. Here you will learn more about the lack of all kinds of food in the last months of 1944. You cycle along the Maas to Heijen and Afferden. There you cross the Maas with a ferry and continue your way along the other bank of the Maas. Admire the country houses De Gun and Huis De Steegh. You will also visit nature reserves such as the Geysteren estate, the Houthuizerheide and the Zwart Water nature reserve. Along the way you can take a break at Jachthaven Wanssum / Café van Wieren, 't Trefpunt Geijsteren or at Veerhuys Tante Jet. You ultimately end your tour in Venlo at the Maagdenberg.
