Refuel in Central Limburg

Cycling through Central Limburg equals old-fashioned enjoyment. You can easily cover many kilometers in the beautiful landscape with its special nature reserves and many old church villages.

Leudal nature reserve
Soon after boarding you drive into the Leudal, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in Limburg. The Leudal is intersected by the Tungelroyse Beek, locally called the Leubeek. You will find a variety of wet and dry forests. And silence! Then you drive for miles through the varied agricultural landscape with its groves and streams. You will see some characteristic road crosses and old regional farms. Cycling here is wonderful!

Stramproy
On the village square of Stramproy you have a beautiful view of the Sint-Willibrordus Church, whose marl tower dates from the sixteenth century. No matter how tempting: don't linger too long, because there are still many beautiful things waiting for you. Such as cycling through the forests of the Tungelerwallen and De Krang. The route ends at Recreatiepark de Leistert where you can enjoy a carefree holiday.

Along Limburg flour mills
Do you like windmills? Then you can indulge yourself on this route, because you pass four flour mills. The first two are in Stramproy. The beautifully restored St. John's Mill dates from 1783, although it was moved to its current location closer to the village in 1804. The monumental Molen de Nijverheid is also a beautiful sight, it was built in 1903. A little further on you will pass the St. Anna mill from 1875 in the neighboring village of Tungelroy. Finally, St. Petrus is on your route. The year 1900 is stated on the blade shaft. However, the intended delivery date was not met due to the severe frost at the end of that year. The mill was finally completed a few weeks later in the spring of 1901.
