Cycle route Sallandse Heuvelrug and Raalte

You start this beautiful and varied route on the edge of the Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park. The first few kilometres will get your legs moving, as you cycle past stately deciduous trees. You will also look out over the vast heathland that lies on the flank of the Sprengenberg. Just before junction 5, you will see the striking white Palthetoren from 1910 on the right. This was the holiday home and hunting lodge for the Palthe family, owners of the textile factory of the same name. Via Heeten you cycle on to Raalte. Here you will see, among other things, the Plaskerk, which originally dates from the Middle Ages. At Brasserie de Haenehof you can enjoy a cosy terrace, after which you cycle a few kilometres past old farms, meadows and arable lands. Via Haarle you cycle back into the forests of the Sallandse Heuvelrug.
