Oudsberg Watermills

You can cycle for miles around the Belgian-Limburg town of Meeuwen-Gruitrode through the gently sloping and natural countryside. This route takes you along some historical sights, such as the Commandery of Gruitrode.

Watermill
If you turn right at junction 2, you can have a look at the Hoogmolen and the protected village view around it. The history of the mill dates back to at least 1500 and the current building dates from 1904. In Neerglabbeek you can see some Kempen long gable farms. The Saint Hubert Church is a nice photo opportunity: the building originally dates from the thirteenth century and it looks beautiful. A little further on you will pass the Commandery van Gruitrode, a special cultural-historical heritage.

Most beautiful spot
In addition to beautiful buildings, rural Limburg also has a mosaic of coniferous forests, heather fields, stream valleys, fens, dunes and grasslands. What a pleasure to cycle here, especially because it is so pleasantly quiet. Secret tip: between junctions 04 and 33, the deck at Broekven is located in the source area of the Abeek. It is one of the most beautiful cycling spots in this region. And an ideal opportunity to unwind. Experience it for yourself!
