Kokhuusies and Hooibergen Route Twenterand

This route takes you around the village of Den Ham in Overijssel. This green village is perhaps the most beautiful village in the entire province and it is centrally located at the three-country point of the Vechtdal, Twente and Salland. First you cycle to Camping De Blekhorst for a cup of coffee. Then you drive past the kokhuusies and haystacks that are so characteristic of this region. The name'kokhuusies\\\' reflects exactly what these houses were used for in the past. The larger cooking work was done here, but the laundry was also done here on the large pot-bellied stove.
