Description

This route takes you from Vroomshoop through the countryside surrounding the village of Den Ham in Overijssel. Vroomshoop was founded during the peat extraction period, as evidenced by the buildings along the canal. The Dutch Reformed Church, dating from 1870, is also located here. You'll cycle for a few kilometers along the Overijssel Canal, passing a "kokhuusie" (cookhouse). The name perfectly reflects what these houses were once used for: cooking and doing laundry on the large pot-bellied stove. From junction 85, you pick up the path that runs along the Beneden Regge river. Via the Ommen forestry district, you'll cycle to the Eerde estate. The current manor house dates from 1715. Further on, you'll pass through Den Ham, passing the old village green. The route concludes with a delicious meal at Brasserie Restaurant "De Aanleg".
