Description
Once you have reached this stage of the Pieterpad, it is time to cross the border from Overijssel to Gelderland. This way you continue your journey to the final end point of the Pieterpad in South Limburg. This route takes you from Holten to Laren through quiet rural areas.
Walking over the Beuseberg
The starting point of this stage of the Pieterpad is located in a practical location. The route starts at Holten train station. Park your car at the end point of the route and then take the train to the starting point of the route. This way you won't have any problems with transportation when you arrive at the end of the route. From Holten you walk over the Beuseberg, a hill of about 34 meters high. Every year on Easter Sunday, an Easter fire is lit on this hill. Then you walk through a green bocage landscape full of beautiful views between the forests and meadows to Laren.
Estates in Laren
You will find the end point of this walk in the middle of Laren. In this village you will find many centuries-old estates with castles and country houses. So be sure to take the time to look around Laren if you like old buildings. Here you will find, among other things, Huis Verwolde, which has been converted into a museum.
