Description
When you have reached this stage of the Pieterpad, it is time to cross the border from Overijssel to Gelderland. This is how you continue your journey to the final destination of the Pieterpad in South Limburg. This route takes you from Holten to Laren through quiet rural areas.
Walking on the Beuseberg
The starting point of this stage of the Pieterpad is conveniently located. The route starts at the train station of Holten. Park your car at the end point of the route and then take the train to the starting point of the route. This way you will not have any problems with transport when you arrive at the end of the route. From Holten you walk over the Beuseberg, a hill about 34 meters high. An Easter fire is lit on this hill every year on Easter Sunday. You then walk through a green bocage landscape full of beautiful vistas between the woods and the meadows to Laren.
Estates in Laren
You will find the end point of this walk in the middle of Laren. In this village you will find numerous ancient estates with castles and country houses. So be sure to take the time to look around in Laren if you like old buildings. Here you will find, among other things, Huis Verwolde, which has been converted into a museum.
