Description

Get on your bike and discover the pearls of Alkmaar, Bergen and Egmond. It will be a journey through small and large discoveries from the past and present. First you drive through the Schoorlse Duinen to the artists' village of Bergen, where you see many beautiful villas. In the Kranenburgh Museum you can admire art from the Bergen School. You pass the Ruin Church from 1597, after which you cycle to Oudorperhout. On the Hoornse Vaart you can see some monumental ironing mills from 1630. In the heart of Alkmaar you can enjoy the rich cultural history, after which you cycle to the Nijenburg estate. On the other side of the road is the Pulpit Rock. In Egmond aan den Hoef you will pass the former Egmond Castle, which was demolished in 1798. The route ends at Fietsverhuurbergenaanzee.nl.
